An interactive online map of beaches where you can generally take your dog to the beach at any time of year has been created by Cornwall Council. The majority of Cornwall’s beaches are included in this. During the summer, there are a few of them that require dogs to be leashed.

The list of beaches with some restrictions is below that list. Although additional information will be provided on the beach description page, the majority of these restrictions are seasonal bans. Unless otherwise noted in the beach description, the seasonal ban typically lasts from 1 July to 31 August (or 15 May to 30 September on the most popular beaches). Additionally, these restrictions typically only apply between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

The Trenance Boating Lake and Gardens are also present. There are flat paths, grassy areas, a cafe, and a tea room in this area that surrounds the large boating lake. For shade, there are a lot of big trees, and underneath them are places to sit. Please remember that there is a lot of wildlife there, including ducks and other river birds, as your dog may need to be on a lead.

The Barrowfields are a huge patch of grassy land. Between the beaches of Tolcarne and Lusty Glaze is this. It is well-liked by dog walkers in the area. Although the area is enclosed from the cliffs, dogs that are excited and following a ball or other object may jump high.

The sloped paths on most of our coastal path are only a few meters from the water’s edge, so there is no fencing there. We always advise keeping dogs on leads.
