There are a lot of exciting things to do in Newquay for the whole family, both in the town and in the surrounding area. Each one is a great day trip.

Beaches Newquay is known as England’s surfing capital, so one of the most popular things to do there is to visit one of the twelve sandy beaches. Each one has a different beach experience, so you won’t run out of options! Beaches are a great place for the whole family to spend the day because they have big areas where kids can run around and burn off energy and beautiful scenery where adults can sit back and relax. There will be a surf school or a place to rent a board at many beaches if you want to try something new and different—surfing.

The Newquay Zoo is Cornwall’s largest zoo, and its acres of grounds allow visitors to get closer to more than 130 species. Watch the big cats get their lunch, visit the creepiest crawlies in the atmospheric tropical house, and learn more about animal and environmental conservation as you relax with the penguins in their pool.

Blue Reef Aquarium The Blue Reef Aquarium is a beautiful place to visit. It is on Towan Beach in the center of Newquay, right next to the famous Towan Island. In the enormous ocean display with an underwater tunnel, you can be amazed by the local marine species that live along the Cornish coast as well as hundreds of tropical species.

Newquay Harbour A visit to Newquay Harbour is a must on your “10 things to do before you leave” list because it is still a significant Cornish fishing port. With Newquay’s colorful fleet of fishing boats, you can join fishing trips and excursions from the Harbour.

Trenance Valley, which includes a miniature railway, bowling green, tennis center, crazy golf, pitch and putt, children’s playground, and Newquay Leisure World with a fitness center and swimming pool, can be found in Newquay. Trenance Gardens, with its boating lake, tea rooms, and restaurant, is the ideal spot to stop and take in the view.
