Nookie & Friends Newquay – Monthly Sessions at The Mermaid Inn
Nookie & Friends Newquay brings a new series of monthly old-school dance music sessions to The Mermaid Inn at Porth Beach. Legendary DJ and producer Nookie will be joined by some of his musical heroes for a celebration of jungle, drum and bass, rave and UK dance culture.
Taking place beside one of Newquay’s most beautiful beaches, these special events will combine legendary artists, classic underground sounds and the unmistakable atmosphere of The Mermaid Inn.

As resident DJ and host, Nookie will welcome a selection of influential DJs, producers and special guests to Newquay. Each monthly session will offer something different while remaining rooted in the old-school sounds that helped shape British dance music.
Music fans can expect sets spanning jungle, drum and bass, breakbeat, rave and classic house. The series is designed to celebrate the artists, records and scenes that played an important part in the history of UK club culture.

Nookie is a respected figure within British jungle and drum and bass. As a DJ, producer and label owner, he has remained closely connected to the music throughout its evolution from the early rave scene to modern drum and bass.
The Nookie & Friends sessions will give audiences the opportunity to experience intimate performances from established names in dance music. Rather than a single event, the monthly residency will create a regular home for old-school sounds at Porth Beach.
