Holywell Bay Beach Newquay | Mile long expanse of golden sand Dunes
menu Home

Holywell Bay

On the north Cornwall coast, Holywell Bay Beach is a large, sandy beach that is about 6 miles west of Newquay. The mile-long beach welcomes dogs and has disabled access from the parking lot. Holywell Bay is a popular destination for swimmers and surfers due to its clear, safe waters.

On Holywell Bay beach, children can paddle in shallow streams or rock pools at low tide. At low tide or high tide, the numerous sand dunes offer a dry alternative. During the busiest times, lifeguards keep an eye on the beach.

The town takes its name from a holy well whose location is currently unknown. The picturesque Holywell Golf Course overlooks the beach and offers views of the Atlantic Ocean.
