Mawgan Porth Beach

Mawgan Porth Beach, located approximately six miles north of Newquay in Cornwall, is a popular surfing and family beach. It is roughly halfway between Watergate Bay and Bedruthan Steps beaches, in a picturesque, protected cove.

Mawgan Porth is a large beach facing the west and north. There are a few small caves to explore and a lot of sand to enjoy at low tide. A reasonable amount of sand remains at high tide. On its way to the ocean, the southern end of the beach is traversed by a river.

The beach is easily accessible from a large parking lot by the beach. The beach is accessible to wheelchair users. By the beach, you’ll also find beach shops, restrooms, and refreshments. The surf school offers rental services for watersports equipment. During the busy season, lifeguards keep an eye on the beach. The beach at Mawgan Porth is pet-friendly.
