Train

Traveling to Newquay by train is easy and convenient, especially during the summer months when there are direct trains from cities across the UK. To make your journey as smooth as possible, follow these steps:

  1. Check the train schedule and book your tickets in advance to take advantage of the best fares. You can do this on the National Rail website or using a train-booking app.

  2. Make sure to arrive at the train station at least 30 minutes before your train is scheduled to depart. This will give you plenty of time to find your platform and board the train.

  3. At the train station, go to the platform where your train will be departing from. This information can be found on your ticket or by checking the electronic displays at the station.

  4. When the train arrives, board the train and find your seat. If you are unsure of where to go, ask a member of the train staff for assistance.

  5. Sit back and relax on the journey to Newquay, which will take around 3 hours depending on the route you are taking.

  6. When you arrive in Newquay, exit the train station and enjoy your stay in this beautiful seaside town. Branch lines from the Plymouth/Penzance main line also serve St Ives, Falmouth, and Looe, so you can easily explore other parts of Cornwall as well.

Please note that the train station in Newquay is seasonally manned, and there is no automated ticket machine. If the ticket office is not open, you can either buy your tickets on the train or online. Also, the Park and Ride at Lelant Saltings, 5 miles out of St Ives, is a good option during the busy summer season. Bus connections make it easy to reach other areas and attractions in Cornwall.
